ANNOUNCEMENTS

Our 34th Sovereign Grace Summer Conference is scheduled for July 4 – 7 2019

ISN’T IT A GOOD THING?

There are many things which believers experience while passing through this world, things which they would never choose to experience.  There are troubles and trials, losses and crosses which cause much suffering and anguish, heartache and pain, chosen for them by their heavenly Father, for His glory and their spiritual eternal good (Rom. 8:28).  While they, in this life below, may never understand the purpose of these things, they do understand that He who purposed and sent them “doeth all things well”, and are not only content to be, but are thankful to be in His wise, loving, sovereign hands.

However, here are some things which we may understand and ponder as we pass through this world.  Whatever it is that comes our way, if it causes us to be more thankful for today and less anxious about uncertain tomorrow; more thankful for what we have and less concerned about what we would like to have; more attracted to spiritual things and less attached to earthly things; more concerned about the need of our souls and less concerned about our bodies; more dependent upon our God and less presumptuously self-reliant, taking God’s mercies for granted; more concerned about being spiritually prepared for death and less concerned about being materially supplied for life, as if we were assured of years, months, weeks, days or even hours to live; more convinced and assured that Christ is everything and compared to knowing and having Him, everything else is nothing!; more fully to realize that what we deserve and all we deserve is God’s just vengeance and eternal wrath in the Devil’s Hell, and since we have escaped that, to be satisfied, content, and thankful for God’s abundant, abiding mercy and grace.  I repeat, “Whatever it is that comes our way…Isn’t it a good thing?”
