SUGGESTED SCRIPTURE READING FOR THE WEEK
Sunday Rom. 1-2 Monday Gen. 1-3 Tuesday Josh 1-5
Wednesday Ps 1-2 Thursday Job 1-2
Friday Isa 1-6 Saturday Matt 1-2
I call for you and call upon myself, let us now commit and consecrate ourselves this day unto the Lord, let us commit and consecrate ourselves this day to the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior as decided, loyal soldiers in the cause of Christ (Romans 12:1-2). Put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:13-18). Make your first concern a matter of civil war. Wage war against your own self. Make no provision for the flesh. Engage the enemy at home. Go to war against your own hearts’ lusts!
And make it your business to oppose every proud, hissing serpent of hell, who dares raise his head in opposition to Christ and his gospel, who dares oppose the glory of our God and Savior. Our Master’s cause, his glory, his truth, and the souls of men are at stake. We must engage the enemy!
Martin Luther once said, “If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, then I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing him! Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved; and to be steady on all the battle front besides is merely flight and disgrace if he flinches at that point.”
The gates of hell will fall before us. God will again send the Spirit of life upon his church. Moses’ prayer for Levi is my prayer for you who take sides with Christ and carry his banner of light through the darkness of this world, assailing the gates of hell with the battering ram of free grace.
“Bless, LORD, his substance, and accept the work of his hands: smite through the loins of them that rise against him, and of them that hate him, that they rise not again.” (Deuteronomy 33:11)

Has anyone, born again EVER really had a bad day? According to scripture I can't find even one day in my own life (or throughout all of history) where there has ever been a bad day for the true child of God. And if I didn't have but this ONE scripture text below to prove it by… it would surely STILL satisfy me! “AND WE KNOW”!
(Romans 8:28-30) “And we know that all things work together for the good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”
We can all find days and time when they have seemed bad … even awful.
Some devastatingly horrendous! And we know that I that wouldn't have to go very far to find someone ready to fight me for even suggesting what I have. But I'm pretty sure that the true child of God would not even wish to change one single thing that has already come to pass in time. Not if they had given it some really deep thought! Of course, we would all wish that none of our since would have ever been needful, but they were necessary! If it were not so, then the text of scripture below would be untruthful. But of course, IT IS TRUE!
(Psalm 76:10) “Surely the wrath of man shall praise the: the reminder of wrath shall thou restrain.”
Even the worst sins of man will ultimately praise our Lord. And God restrains all of the others sin that mankind would have sinned because they were NOT necessary! He allowed what was needful ONLY … and then worked them all together for the good of all His elect, and to the praise of His own holy name forever!
After it’s all over, we (who are the redeemed of the Lord) will clearly understand this hidden mystery! We see today through this lens darkly! But by His grace WE DO SEE … and to some degree we understand! That “wrath of man” is unregenerate man's hatred for God and his abhorrent enmity! No sin has ever committed that it wasn't willful. Our old nature doesn't “slip” into sin! It runs headlong to it! Yet we read this reassuring text,
(Romans 4:8) “Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not imputes sin”

A WILLING SUBSTITUTE
“Christ did not die on the cross trying to save his people. HE DIED SAVING HIS PEOPLE! He was given the name Jesus for that very purpose: For he shall save his people from their sins (Matt 1:21). If you believe that God loves every one and died for everyone, then your idol is a failure as all idols are. The God of scripture is not trying to do anything. HE IS ACCOMPLISHING HIS PURPOSE (Isa. 14:27). He willingly became a man, laid down his life, paying the price of sin, for his sheep (John 10:15). We have all sinned and came short of the glory of God; we all deserve the wrath to come, yet there is a people, chosen before the world was (Eph 1:4), who are to be the recipients’ of His Love.
Because he first loved us, we have a substitute. One who has paid the price for us, one who stood in our place. One who willingly received our just reward. One who laid down his life for us. No man taketh it from him (John 10:18).
Dear reader, I pray that The Lord of Glory is Your Substitute. Today is the day of salvation! Believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST and thou shalt be saved.”

“Can it possibly be conceived that there should be a redemption of men, and those men not be redeemed? That a price should be paid, and the purchase not consummated?”
A TRUMPET OF ALARM
My dear brothers and sisters, these words are intended to awaken, alert, and hopefully alarm you to urgent prayer and action. Satan is waxing bold in these days. Never since man’s fall, never since the Garden of Eden has Satan been in such a paradise. Satan and his preachers have the ear of the masses in these days in which we live. Arminian, free-will, human works religion is rampant, being the norm of the day. Consequently, there is no lie, no iniquity, no wickedness, no vileness, and no blasphemy, which is not somewhere across our land being brazenly uttered or practiced; and by someone or some group, publicly defended!
When men and women, as our nation has, “receive not the love of the truth” and despise the abundant light God has so freely given, then Almighty God, in just judgment, might leave them to their own will and way (Prov. 14:12; 16:25). This seems to be the case in our beloved United States (John 12: 35-36; II Thess. 2:7-12; II Tim. 3:1-4:4). Both head and tail are thoroughly corrupted (Isa. 1:6; 9:13-17; Rev. 9:19). From the palaces to the shanties, from the White House to the pulpit, “their own way have I recompensed upon their heads” (Ezek. 23:23-31).
Brothers and sisters, read, hear and observe the news; read, hear and observe religion; read, hear and observe yourself - all with your Bible open! Save yourself and your children from this crooked, twisted, perverse generation (especially religion, Acts 2:40). Bring your family and friends to sit at the feet of the Lord Jesus Christ and HEAR HIS WORD (Deut. 18:15-19). “What is a man profited if he gain the whole world and lose his own soul?” Redeem the time! Seek first and foremost the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and temporal, material things will be taken care of in the good providence of God. Do not rest, nor give the Lord rest, until you and your family can say with the great apostle to us Gentiles, “I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day”(II Tim. 1:12). Please read (Isa. 62: 6-7; Ezek. 36:37).
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life: but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
“We will be glad and rejoice in thee.”
Song of Solomon 1:4
“We will be glad and rejoice in thee. We will not open the gates of the year to the dolorous notes of the sackbut, but to the sweet strains of the harp of joy, and the high sounding cymbals of gladness. ‘O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise unto the rock of our salvation.’ We, the called and faithful and chosen, we will drive away our griefs, and set up our banners of confidence in the name of God. Let others lament over their troubles, we who have the sweetening tree to cast into Marah’s bitter pool, with joy will magnify the Lord. Eternal Spirit, our effectual Comforter, we who are the temples in which thou dwellest, will never cease from adoring and blessing the name of Jesus. We will, we are resolved about it, Jesus must have the crown of our heart’s delight; we will not dishonour our Bridegroom by mourning in his presence. We are ordained to be the minstrels of the skies, let us rehearse our everlasting anthem before we sing it in the halls of the New Jerusalem. We will be glad and rejoice: two words with one sense, double joy, blessedness upon blessedness. Need there be any limit to our rejoicing in the Lord even now? Do not men of grace find their Lord to be camphire and spikenard, calamus and cinnamon even now, and what better fragrance have they in heaven itself? We will be glad and rejoice in Thee. That last word is the meat in the dish, the kernel of the nut, the soul of the text. What heavens are laid up in Jesus! What rivers of infinite bliss have their source, aye, and every drop of their fulness in him! Since, O sweet Lord Jesus, thou art the present portion of thy people, favour us this year with such a sense of thy preciousness, that from its first to its last day we may be glad and rejoice in thee. Let January open with joy in the Lord, and December close with gladness in Jesus.”
~C. H. Spurgeon~
“Although I am a sinner, yet I despair not; for Christ, who is my Redeemer and my righteousness, liveth. In Him I have no sin, no fear, no sting of conscience, and no fear of judgment; for in Him there is no condemnation. I am indeed a sinner as touching this present life; but I have a righteousness of God which is above this life, who is Christ my Lord. In Him I rejoice!–
~Martin Luther (1483-1546)~
