“Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.” (Romans 8:33)
Those words of Holy Scripture can only be applied to God’s chosen, blood-bought people. One would think that sinful, self-righteous religionists would show genuine interest in the doctrine of election and the doctrine of particular redemption, not hate and despise those precious Biblical, God-honoring truths...
Gene Harmon
When asked of the ground of hope that the false professor has of salvation, he looks back to some act or experience or inward to some imagined goodness for hope. But the believer only looks outward and upward by faith to Christ and His effectual sacrifice!
Copied
“If my finger were on the golden latch of paradise, and my foot were on its jasper threshold, I should not take the last step so as to enter heaven, unless the grace which brought me thus far should enable me fully and fairly to complete my pilgrimage.”
C. H. Spurgeon
“If God the Holy Spirit sprinkles your heart with the blood of Christ, if He will apply the blood to you, you will look upon Him you have pierced and mourn. Miracles will never penetrate your hard heart. Judgments will never break your heart. Tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, and earthquakes, though ever so frightening, will never penetrate the heart of a sinner. Affliction will never break it. The law, with all its threats and curses, will never break the heart of man. Hell itself cannot break the rebel heart of man. But the blood of Christ can!”
